Volume Up: We’re Dressing Loudly This Spring
Minimalism? We had our moment. Quiet luxury? Cute, but we’re ready to turn the volume back up. Spring 2025 is coming in loud, with textures, layers and new color combinations. After seasons of capsule wardrobes, fashion is turning up the volume. Think soft lace over denim, pastel mesh under structured brown blazers, skirts over trousers. It's a curated contrast and layering is a styling language, which everyone speaks differently.
Transparency is seen everywhere: sheer tops, lace, and mesh overlays. Especially black lace is making a spring comeback, think romantic, but with a dramatic, Lana Del Rey kind of energy.
Of course pastels are back too - but this time clashing with rich browns, dusty blues. Butter yellow, powder blue and Chanels baby pink fresh off the runway.
And then: the shoes. As Carrie would say: “Men I may not know, but shoes, shoes, I know”. They are having a main character moment. More than accessories, they’re the punctuation mark of every outfit. Sneakers stay, but they’re slimmer now, almost sculptural. Ballet flats are fully back and this time, with a twist. The controversial “camel toe” silhouette, seen in Maison Margiela’s iconic Tabis and Louboutin’s high-arched ballerinas, is everywhere. You either love them or hate them - but you’ve definitely seen them. Cowboy boots? Still thriving, styled under floaty spring dresses or over denim, for that perfect mix of softness and edge. And the sneakerheads are fed too: sporty-luxe collabs like Miu Miu x New Balance are dominating the conversation. Slim silhouettes - from the Adidas Gazelle to Puma classics - both defining sporty elegance.
It’s about mixing aesthetics with no apologies. Camp meets chic. Soft meets bold. Silver and gold? Worn together. Eyecatching Bags? Bold, bedazzled, oversized, and personalized. Not just accessories, more identity pieces. Just like Fringe. On boots, vests, tops, bags, cowboy chic, giving a wild-west twist to everything from leather boots to mini crossbodies, as seen in the latest Maje Collection. Soft skirts with oversized jackets. Adidas track pants with thick tennis socks inside satin ballet flats. Cool meets elegance. A soft spring girl with something to say. It’s a shift from last year's quiet capsule wardrobe to expressing something more personal with more layers.
Spring fashion 2025 doesn’t whisper: we dress louder, play with contrast and bloom
